Glascote Methodist Church is situated in the centre of the village within 2 minutes walk from a bus stop from the town centre.   It has been a building for worship and witness for 144years

Sunday Service is at 6pm.   Due to Covid our monthly children’s service had to close.    We hope to be able with help to start again in the future.

Our church is a very welcoming and friendly  and our worship is very informal with different preachers each week.   We have members who are also worship leaders who sometimes assist in leading worship.   Our services consist mostly of traditional music and some modern music.   We have a pipe organ which is sometimes used (if we can get an organist) otherwise hymns are played on a Hymnal.

Prior to Covid we held occasional Saturday evening social gatherings with a meal and entertainment which were always well supported by church members and the local community.  We hope to be able to resume these evenings possibly in September for our harvest weekend.   We had a weekly prayer meeting and fortnightly house groups, both had to be suspended due to restrictions of covid. We also had a very successful luncheon club held once a month.  Every Monday we had parent and toddler group, we are hoping to restart this in September.

Once these restrictions are lifted we will be looking for a way forward to reach out to the people of Glascote and the local community and share the good news of God’s love to all around.

The rear of our church consists of a large upstairs room and an adjoining smaller room with toilet facilities and small kitchen.   Downstairs is a good sized room with adjoining fully fitted kitchen, both with a disabled access from a corridor which is situated at the side entrance of the church providing disabled entrance.   Toilets and disabled toilet are situated at the far end of the corridor.

These rooms are available fore hire, for details contact Tam 57015 or Tam 69585.

Our weekday activities at present are:-

Monday – Fortnightly ladies fellowship 2pm.  £1 per meeting with a variety of speakers

Thursday – Guides meet at 7.15 – contact 07803518494

Prior to covid we had -

Monday - Parent & toddlers,  9.15 – 11am Cost £1 per family including toast and  drinks. We plan to resume in September.

Wednesday -  Luncheon Club last Wednesday of each month.   Awaiting a decision if we can staff this at present.

We extend a warm welcome to anyone to join with us.
